Following the successful run of the Cape Breton Stage Company Hits the Streets outdoor theatre festival, a donation was made to Transition House, an organization whose purpose is to eliminate violence against women in Nova Scotia as well as offer shelter to those in need. This year's donation came from the 'pay-what-you-can' admissions taken from the street festival in August of 2009 and came to the amount of $600. This is the second year in a row that the proceeds from this festival have gone to Transition House with plans to continue in the future.
